KMB NFT
Where Collective Memory Meets Immersive Technology.
Deliverables:
3D Model art direction . 3D model building . Video Editing . Social Media Post Design (Instagram, Linkedin)
For Hong Kongers, the Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) is more than just public transport—it’s a cultural icon. From childhood commutes to city-wide adventures, KMB has been part of everyday life for decades. The challenge was: How can we preserve this shared nostalgia while making it relevant to the digital generation?
As part of the NOIZ Web3 ecosystem, I led the creative strategy, design, and roadmap for the KMB NFT Project—a groundbreaking initiative that transforms buses into interactive digital collectibles. This project reimagines heritage through the lens of Web3, bridging cultural memory with future technology.

The Bus Info Card
Each NFT begins as an Info Card, inspired by KMB’s red-and-white identification signage. Designed like a digital encyclopedia, it combines:
Technical specs
Capturing the precision of engineering.
Historical facts
Preserving key milestones of KMB’s journey.
Cultural stories
Grounding the design in community identity.
The visual language balances nostalgic references with modern UI clarity, making it equally engaging for bus enthusiasts and digital-first collectors.
Bus Model +
AR Gamification
Every NFT unlocks a high-fidelity 3D bus model that comes alive through Augmented Reality via the NOIZ Wallet App.
Place buses into real-world environments.
Capture playful, creative photos.
Interact with the model in a way that makes nostalgia tactile again.
This AR layer turns static collectibles into immersive cultural experiences, extending KMB’s presence from the streets of Hong Kong into the digital world.
Why It Matters
The KMB NFT project demonstrates how design and storytelling can preserve cultural heritage in digital form. By fusing nostalgia with innovation, it not only memorializes Hong Kong’s bus legacy but also invites new generations to experience it in ways that feel interactive, playful, and future-ready.
For me as a designer, this project highlights how Web3 can move beyond speculation—becoming a platform for cultural preservation, brand storytelling, and emotional engagement.
Results
The KMB NFT project successfully transformed a local heritage icon into an interactive digital collectible, bridging nostalgia with innovation. The campaign achieved high user engagement and rapid NFT sell-out, expanding KMB’s reach to younger, tech-savvy audiences while strengthening its cultural legacy in the digital era.
