Comvita, the premium New Zealand honey brand, commissioned a series of product photography concepts to highlight the distinctive purity, texture, and craftsmanship of its Manuka honey. The shoot explored multiple thematic directions—ranging from natural elegance to refined luxury—each designed to elevate the brand’s premium positioning while emphasizing the golden richness and smooth viscosity of the honey.
Seasonal and lifestyle-inspired settings served as subtle backdrops to complement, rather than overshadow, the product itself. The result was a cohesive visual narrative that celebrated Comvita’s authenticity and global sophistication through meticulously styled, high-end imagery.

East Meets West
The vision was to honor tradition while elevating perception. I designed the shoot around a European afternoon tea setting, pairing porcelain tea sets, fresh Manuka flowers, and soft natural lighting with the mooncakes. This subtle fusion presented the product as more than a festive treat—it became a symbol of refinement and cultural exchange.
The Tone Balanced
Eastern tradition → mooncakes, cultural heritage, seasonal storytelling.
Western elegance → tea ritual aesthetics, luxury composition, refined props.
Narrative & Brand Alignment
This cultural juxtaposition perfectly reflected Comvita’s global identity: rooted in natural New Zealand heritage, yet adaptable to international markets. The photography told a story of a premium wellness meeting seasonal celebration, positioning the products as the ideal all-time must-have.
Results
The final imagery was rolled out across social media, seasonal campaigns, packaging promotions, and in-store displays. The visuals not only elevated the product’s market appeal but also reinforced Comvita’s positioning as a premium, globally conscious wellness brand.
This project was especially meaningful as it allowed me to merge cultural storytelling with visual elegance, showing how thoughtful design direction can both honor tradition and expand a brand’s narrative globally.
